I've been a huge fan of my 2022 Lucid Grand Touring, but recently I had a major setback.
The rear drive motor suddenly failed. It was a real shock, especially considering the car's relatively low mileage. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? If so, how did you handle the situation? Any advice on what to expect from the dealership or warranty coverage would be helpful.

A few months back…I ran into a pretty similar issue with my Lucid, had a faulty battery that caused it to completely stop moving. After a bit of a hassle, I managed to get it home, but eventually, Lucid had to tow it and sort everything out. I've come across other reports of people dealing with their cars randomly conking out too, and it's no surprise that stuff like this is definitely hurting Lucid’s reputation and sales. It’s pretty clear they’ve got some work to do on quality control to keep things like this from happening again.

Sorry to hear about the motor failure... It’s rare, but yeah you should contact Lucid directly for insight on warranty coverage.

Something similar happened to my cousin's Lucid on a road trip. The rear motor unit had to be replaced. Thankfully, they were able to pull over safely when the warning message appeared. The dealership covered the towing costs and offered a rental car, but they declined. It could have been a much worse situation.
